The Road to Wellness Is Inside

Welcome new blogger, Lexi  Soulios, Outreach Coordinator for Jeans Cream.  Lexi’s blog is a great follow up to my post as guest blogger on the Jeans Cream site on “The Three Factors that Enable a Woman to Thrive”. Jeans Cream was originally formulated as a radiation burn cream to protect and heal the skin from radiation side effects during radiation therapy. It is now the preferred radiation cream of doctors, nurses and patients around the country.

When we feel centered and connected to ourselves, it is much easier to navigate the complexities of our lives. It is much simpler to know what action is right for us, what we need to do in order to live in health and wellness. While working with the Jeans Cream community over the last decade, we have found something very important to be true: No one path is right for everyone. And the women who seem to do the best both during treatment and moving into their lives post-treatment, are the ones who follow their own knowing about what is right for them.

Recently, we shared a guest blog post that Rhonda wrote for our community. In it, she talked about the importance of Recovering, Restoring, and Reenergizing, which forms the basis of Breast Cancer Partner’s philosophy. We couldn’t agree more! These seem to be the key ingredients in helping each of us to connect back with who we truly are. And from there – from a place of peace and strength, where we can hear the soft whispers or the loud roaring of or own inner voice, we can make decisions about our lives and our health that will truly serve us.

Jean, the founder of Jeans Cream, who has survived breast cancer twice, takes a very hands-on, allopathic approach to her health. She keeps up with all of her doctor’s recommendations regarding diagnostic tests and follows the preventative treatment protocol they advise. That’s what works for her – it’s how she cultivates peace of mind so that she can live well. We have other survivors in our community who take a very different approach and opt for yoga, meditation, healing emotional distress, and eating all organic. And we interact with many people who are exploring a blend of natural healing methods and traditional western medicine.

If we are to become true advocates for our own health and walk a path that will bring us the greatest possible health benefits, we have to make it a priority to Recover from all that life has thrown our way (including our cancer diagnosis and treatment), to Restore our sense of strength and vitality, and to Reenergize our minds and bodies with healthy eating and hands-on support. Doing these things will help us stay connected with our internal compasses so that we can choose the paths that are right for us, bringing us the greatest possible peace of mind and sense of wellness to last into our future.
